Mr. and Mrs. Lynch have been a part of our program since June of 2007. Here
is what Mr. and Mrs. Lynch said when asked what they most enjoy about our program: "We love that your program helps low-to moderate income individuals
like ourselves."
Mrs. Lynch takes pride in planting flowers and making her home inviting. Mr. Lynch takes pride in keeping the community clean.
Mrs. Lynch says with a big smile on her face, "I like to keep the inside clean, while Mr. Lynch keeps the outside clean." The Lynches are a perfect example of the fruit of the labor of our Founder Joseph J. Watts.
Shamika Legette had been a part of our program since 2005. She just recently went to settlement and is now a homeowner. When asked what she most liked about BHI's program, she replied, "I am so grateful for the program that BHI has. It has allowed me to become a homeowner.
I wish Mr. Watts lived long enough to see this day. Better Homes has taught me how to be responsible. Before I purchased my home, I was leasing with option to buy. There were problems with the sewer but BHI took care of the cost of everything. I never had to wait a long time for something to be taken care of.
It seems like it would be forever until I was able to actually become a homeowner, but God has blessed me and God has His reasons on why we have to wait. Now it is finally here!"
Shamika goes on to say, "My generation does not know the importance of home-ownership. They should try to follow in the footsteps of what their parents worked so hard for. My generation needs to start making plans on leaving an inheritance for their children. I am the first in the family to own a home and I plan to pass on the importance of home-ownership to my children's children."
